“I’ve learned to be okay with not having all of the answers. We can celebrate the good days knowing that bad days might still come. And it’s been reassuring and encouraging to meet others who are living through what I lived through.”

– Kara G.

But be prepared for real, not-so-rosy answers. Don’t compare their journey to someone else’s or feel pressure to say the just-right thing. Simply listening can go a long way.

Know that there is no ‘getting better.’ It’s OK to celebrate the good days knowing that bad days might still come.

Because symptoms and challenges can vary daily, plans may need to change. “Be patient and keep reaching out—I still want to be included, and I’m doing the best I can with what I’m given each day.” – Kara G.
